"We don't talk about Bruno." That was the rule Maribel Madrigal was being told as she grew up. It was a rule of the house of Madrigal. Don't ask about Bruno. Don't mention Bruno. Don't talk about Bruno! But how did it come to be this way? That was not always how it had been. A man who was once an adored son, a loved brother, and an admired uncle. An important piece of the family Madrigal. Until he wasn't.... How did that happen? This is that story.

"Papa, where are you...? Why did you leave me? Papa, I love you!" the little girl cried into her father's ruana bitterly. When Kristi was just a year old, her parents were in a tragic accident. Kristi was an orphan. She was sent to the orphanage in Encanto, but, she didn't stay there long. A man with long, curly, dark hair and a green ruana walked in and adopted her. He took her home that day. Bruno Madrigal was always a lonely man. No one liked him much and thought he was the cause of everything bad that happened. But, two people did like him very much. They thought him to be very special. He was there when their daughter, Kristi was born. He was very sad when his only friends died, but took it upon himself to raise the girl. He went to the orphanage and adopted her, much to his mother's dismay. Despite her abuela not being very nice to her and townspeople saying mean things about her papa, she loved her life. Bruno was a wonderful father to her and the two loved each other very much. To everyone's surprise, when she was five, she received a gift. The ability to see other people's dreams. Bruno's life didn't get much better with the townsfolk. Bruno never allowed his little girl to look into his dreams. He didn't want her to worry or be hurt. He dealt with this alone. But he didn't realize, he didn't have to. He had a daughter that loved him so very much.
