What if Katniss Everdeen's rebellion failed?
Set twenty-five years after the events of The Hunger Games, these 99th Games see the Districts getting ready to give rebellion another try. All of their hopes are riding on an eccentric collection of tributes whose main goal is to make it home safe to their families. And at the center of it all is sixteen-year-old Fuyuko Kawaguchi, whose hacking prowess may be exactly what the Districts need to show the Capitol they're ready for war this time.

We know her story. But have you ever wondered what it was like on the home front, in District 12? This story is Gale's, his outlook on the games, his feelings about his best friend's situation, and his interactions with the people of District 12. The story is set during the time period of "The Hunger Games" (book one of the trilogy). It is written from the perspective of Gale Hawthorne, and does not concern any events in books two and three. This is my first fan fiction, my first "real" attempt at long form prose writing, and my first Wattpad story. I appreciate constructive feedback, but please, no hate. While the characters and some plot points are based off of Suzanne Collins's Hunger Games Trilogy, (which I in no way own the rights to) I have created this story using my own imagination. This requires knowledge of the Hunger Games series, and i recommend watching and reading The Hunger Games to understand the universe and Catching Fire to understand some characters. What would happen if Katniss hadn't won the games? Well the rebellion never happened and the games continued on. This year, it's time for the 4th quarter quell and the capitol has a big surprise for the districts. There will be three games. The first game will consists of district 1-6. 3 males and 3 females will be reaped from each district to participate. 12 of the 36 will move in to a final game. Then the second game will consist of district 7-12. 3 males and 3 females will also be reaped. Again 12 of the 36 will move on to a final game. The final game will consist of the tributes that survived the first and second games. From there the tributes will battle until a lone victor remains. May the odds be ever in your favour...Compleet
