At the age of 27, Agent Grey found herself in a very tough position when she was appointed to spy on the Kim family's legacy. Rumor had it that the Kims were one of the biggest operators in the underground business, and she needed to gather evidence to put them behind bars. It wasn't a difficult task for her because she had been part of the Kim family's inner circle since childhood; the hard part was breaking their trust for her own selfish ambitions.

Nine years ago, Lisanna left Seoul and moved to England to study criminal law, leaving the country with a broken heart that needed mending. She was a hopeless romantic who believed in destiny, so when a pair of soft lips descended on hers to give her lungs air as she was nearly drowning in the lake at their school's youth camp, Lisanna didn't care whether she was in a near-death experience or not because, at that moment, she was convinced she had found her soulmate.

But Lisanna assumed too soon. In high school, on their graduation day, her best friend Vier invited her to come to her brother's newly built club, and there she drunkenly confessed her feelings to the Kim family's middle child. Kieran stared at her for a long time before muttering the cold words that shattered her world: "I'm flattered. But I can't reciprocate your undying love, Grey. I don't have a heart to offer."
