In the meantime, Giovanni learns (sort of) that faking marriages isn't that easy (of course Jessie, James, Meowth muck it up and he ends up married for real), discovers Ash has megalomaniac tendencies in line with his mindset, and traveling across Kalos was going to be one long, epic honeymoon. On the other hand, Ash happily usurps Team Rocket, makes minions kneel and cater to her whims, and conquers Kalos gyms with OP pokemon and learns that overkill is never a bad thing. So hello, Kalos! You've got the second coming of Bonnie and Clyde blazing a trail through the region, trolling the law and Flare morons, and causing general chaos in their wake with their pledge to raise hell. A - Leaf is not replaced by Lyra, both characters are different in their own ways. I wanted to get Leaf out of the picture for a different kind of character growth. Lyra is Red's cousin sister, with Red being an experienced trainer, he acts like a mentor to her. Q - So time travel happens in this one? A - It does, and its fun how it plays out. Q - Who is this Masked Man? There was a masked man in the manga too. A - While the idea was original, a mystery man who structures every Team Rocket plan and assists Giovanni. I was shocked to see that the manga had someone named "Masked Man" as well. Q - Who is this Masked Man? And why is he important? A - A mystery man controlling every aspect of a criminal organisation and has been the true mastermind of Giovanni's every plan? Sounds pretty important to me.
