Fifteen years had gone by since King Ryker of Mordrid had defeated King Rohan of Elsinguard to have won the Serpentine War. Since then there have been five failed rebellions; each had ended in it's first month. Old Lobo, against his better judgement decides to heed the advice of his friend Gus, joining the rebellion funded by King Rohan's children, in hopes to see the tyranny of King Ryker come to an end; while collecting a large sum of money that would give him and his family a chance at a better life.

Being a slave in Echalon is a just punishment for a man who once dared to challenge the might of King Ryker. After spending five long years in the mines, Kaelan knew mercy was only in death, mercy did come, but in the form of a document. It was written and signed by King Ryker himself, delivered by his youngest son, Prince Dane. After his eldest son Prince Damien had chased him out of the throne, there was but one soloution, to name a King Maker, a man who was once his son-in-law. After having the title bestowed upon him, Kaelan must navigate his way through the treacherous north. He must defend himself and his company from the likes of Elementals, a group of gifted mercenaries that could wield magical elements, hired by Damien.

It felt like a lifetime ago when she was married to Kaelan. The blame was her's to share for him becoming a slave. Amiera had ran away to be with the love of her life, Lord Verdan Kremwald of Silver Fields. Five years passed and she now finds herself in a loveless marriage. Determine to make things right, she leaves her husband behind in attempt to free Kaelan from slavery. She finds herself unravelling the mysterious plot behind the death of Kaelan's family members. She knows for certain that Elementals were behind the gruesome murders, but why, was the question that hunted her mind.
