Rise of the Blue Comet (a Dick Grayson/Robin fanfic)

Aquafina Charming, or Aqua for short, isn't your average 13 year old. Her parents, Chandler and Ella Charming, are the King and Queen of Brooklinia; the country of which she is the heir to the throne. She has a psychotic ex-boyfriend that tried to destroy her country and kill her family just because she broke up with him. And, she was gifted with incredible powers, some of which she hasn't even discovered yet.

When an attempt is made on the royal Brookian family's lives, Aqua must travel with her mother and siblings away from their homeland to a seemingly different world known as the United States. Instead of horse-drawn carriages, Americans ride in automobiles. A lot of things are different from her home, and yet so many things are the same.

Dick Grayson's life has never been perfect. He lived in a small trailer with his parents, was bullied in school, and had very few friends. Despite everything, Dick always managed to find the bright side of things, even in a place as dark as Gotham City. His parents loved him, he always had food on the table, and he was able to bring joy to people every single day (for the low price of $3.40 a ticket!). That was more than enough.

When John and Mary Grayson die, leaving their only son behind as an orphan, Dick realizes how quickly life can change. He went from sleeping on a small, lumpy mattress to a feathered king size bed in the time span of two days. If it weren't for his Aunt Harriet, Dick wouldn't have any living family members left. And if it wasn't for Bruce Wayne, he wouldn't have been given the chance to start a new life.

When these two cross paths, there is an instant connection that neither have ever felt before. Will working together be a benefit to them both, or will it destroy everything they hold close?
