Blue Honor follows four tightly twined families during the course of the American Civil War. Sometimes yielding their own skirmishes is the only way to see friends and loved ones through the conflict. The only certainty they have is that nothing will be the same when the battles end.

Emily Conrad is the bookish daughter of a wealthy Vermont dairy family. Her indulgent father educated her well, and cultivated ambitions thought improper by her urbane mother. It is decided by her that Emily must settle down with longtime friend, and town philanderer, Evan Howell. The outbreak of war offers Emily an escape, but a stranger soon arrives, threatening her plans more than societal conventions ever could.

Devoted to the young woman who healed her wounds, Henrietta becomes part of the Conrad family, all the while hoping to see her husband and son again. As an escaped slave, she's lucky to have found peace there, but Evan Howell's return, and the man he brings with him, imperil her new found freedoms. This is a change that could see her locked back in irons, if not executed for what she has done.

Evan isn't as bad as his reputation implies. He knows his chum Emily will be the best doctor Vermont has ever seen, and he knows he's not the man to marry her and see that through. With a little manipulation, he convinces his commander, Lieutenant Joseph Maynard, to take leave with him and see the beauty of the North. He just doesn't let on it's not hillsides and streams he's setting the man up for.

Joseph has both power and privilege as the son of a Baltimore lawyer, but status can't guarantee him the things he wants in life. His commission in the army is likely to end in death, a sacrifice he was ready to make to aid the end of slavery-that was until he saw Miss Emily Conrad. Torn between duty and desire, Joseph struggles to maintain his waning convictions.

War weary, they all march on to duty...

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!

"I've been burned once, who is to say it will not happen again" I spoke quietly watching her closely. Grace confused me like no other she wormed her way into my heart with her easy-going smiles, kind nature, and gentle heart. Feeling her small hands hold my large ones I glance down into her green eyes "You need to trust that I am not Mia have I not proven to you Cassian, I am here to stay you fit with me" she said in a gentle yet firm tone. The smile she sent me held love, comfort and that was all it took after months of breaking down the walls I decided to take a leap of faith. *********************************************** Cassian Grey had been burned once and that was enough for him after sharing a business deal with his four other brothers they opened up The Grey Gull on the coast of Cornwall, England. A fresh start is what these guys needed and a fresh start is what they will get. Grace Bauer is an art historian with her own little gallery where she brings long-forgotten pieces of beauty back to life. She too had been burned so when she hears of this bar and grill opening up she knows her friends are just dying to try it out. What both of these souls don't realize is that once thrown in each other's paths they soon realize that maybe just maybe they are what the other half needs in one another. It may take a little more convincing on Cassian's part but can he take that leap of faith and trust Grace. I don't know what possessed me to do my next action, as I closed the inch of distance between our lips. Perhaps it was floating in the air or rushing through my blood, but just this once before the madness ensued I wanted to kiss him. Maybe I shouldn't have let myself give in for a single moment, but I was only human and he was unlike any man I had met in a long time. Our lips pressed together, eyes closed, arms pressed against his chest as he brought me closer. We moved in sync and this feeling made everything melt away. ________________________________________________ In the middle of editing so two of this symbol ~ . means that a chapter is fully edited minus the few grammar mistakes I'm bound to make, if there's only one ~ then it means that chapter is currently being edited so please don't kill me.
