During the particle accelerator explosion, Mothra's egg was sitting out there in the water when the particles got absorbed into the egg by the developing larva and when they were absorbed into the larva's body, larva Mothra began to turn into a meta. Team Flash ⚡ found her and took her egg to Star Labs, where Dr. Harrison Wells continuely observed the egg.
