Young, 15 year old, orphan Tommy is told to never go beyond the walls that protects their kingdom, for there are wicked beasts that lurk beyond its safety. Tommy is skeptical about these "beasts" that the kingdom is oh-so frightened about, so he sets out during the night, full of curiosity, to see if they're real, or just a myth. But you know what they say. "Curiosity killed the cat." Or in this case, "Curiosity killed the kid." But does he die? Maybe not. Are some of those "wicked beasts" actually nice if they're even real? A young blonde boy wakes up in the middle of the forest. He can't remember how he got there or much about himself either. His name is blank from his mind, and he can't even remember his family. His clothes are torn and dirty, and he wonders what happened. He's not hungry, but he wants a small snack, yet every apple tree and every berry bush he passes doesn't strike his fancy. He eventually makes it to a city. Large buildings are fallen over and the ones still standing have busted out windows and/or have smoke and fire coming from them. He can hear distant screams and yells and gunshots. There are people passing him that are strange. They're badly injured and walk slightly hunched over. Some are missing limbs, and some are missing and eye, or both. They don't even appear to be alive to the boy. They look his way but don't mind him. Tommy is confused and scared. He can slightly remember this place to be his once home, and it makes him upset that's it's gone to such shit, and scared by everyone's screams and the fires and the fighting, and mostly, the fact that some people are eating each other. "I should start heading home, it's getting really late" I say as I put my phone back into my bag. I look up to see a group of 5 guys who happen to be from my school. 'Oh shit', I thought to myself. These guys always caused me trouble before school was out. I started walking the other way to avoid them noticing me but just as I started walking away, "Oh look guys, it's that girl. Y/N" "Fuck" I said under my breath. I turned around facing them, "Hey guys, I was just going. I'll be on my way now" I say nervously. The one in the middle was named Liam the others were named Chris, Jacob, Jake, and Asher. I guess you could say that Liam is the "leader" of the group because they do whatever he says and seem a bit afraid of him. As I turned around to start walking again I felt a grab and pull on my arm. A fiery like pain struck the part of my arm that was grabbed. "Ow fuck-" I was turned around to see Liam up close to me. He pushed me up against the gate that was blocking out the forest.
