The story I am about to tell you isn't one with a happy ending. It's not about me falling madly in love with a boy, nor is it about a magical and a wonderful world. If this is what you want to read about, I beg of you – stop reading at once. This is a story based on true events. This is the story about how a stupid book took away everything from me. The story of how I got turned into a mermaid.

Two years after Moana returns to Motunui, her life seems to have gone back to what it was before Te Fiti. Chiefly duties outweigh the calling of the sea, Maui has been gone for what seems like ages, and Moana's unhappiness returns, but is now self inflicted. However, destiny has big plans for its 'Little Ocean'. After swallowing one of Auahitūroa's (God of Comets) stars by accident, Tangaroa (God of the Sea) gives his heart to the Ocean so it will be protected from Auahitūroa's wrath.
