Eight is the last of the Umbrella Academy's students, left on its steps when she was a young child. A girl who fears the darkness more than anything in the world, cursed with a power to shape it. She's never learned to control it, always and constantly running from the dark - either to work, alcohol or drugs. Now, many years after that girl has been abandoned, once by her parents, and the second time, by her closest friend, she is still a total trainwreck. A bubbly one, at that, with a smile ever stuck on her lips.

However when after seventeen years Five - a boy who both ruined her life and made it worth living - comes back and wrecks havoc in it again, she will have to face her demons, and stand still, just for a moment.
