Aubrey was a normal teenage girl other than the fact that her sisters been missing for 3 years. She's at school when she gets a note from her sister. She gets freaked out and goes home where her dad is cooking something weird. She goes upstairs and finds a pale yellow box filled with random objects. She finds a picture of the cellar shes been dreaming about for months and had failed to escape over and over again. When she hears the front door open she walked down to see her dad. But he was different he was still in his suit, still holding is brefcase. But she swore she had saw her dad cooking. She gets confused and thinks shes sick she decides to go upstairs and falls asleep when she wakes up for dinner she gets poisoned and passes out. She wakes up in a Cellar filled with girls all around her age. The girls all are confused about the resemblance between there friend and Aubrey. What will happen in the Cellar and with the other girls?

If you want to read about "Normal" teenagers, maybe this isn't for you, it's more complicated than that. It's about a teenager who doesn't fit it, but doesn't want to, who has the best two friends that anyone could have. Who watched his father lose his job in the Recession and then loses his home, and how he copes, especially when he learns that their new house is haunted and the ghost is in his room. Michael was an average kid, although he's always stood out. He was a school jock but also a skater whose long blond hair almost reaches his waist. When his parents lived in a house in a home owners association like all his other friends, life seemed normal. Then his father lost his job and suddenly those "friends" weren't there anymore--except for his two best friends, Short Round and Dewey. The three are skaters, good ones, who live for girls and their skateboards. They're also basically good kids who take pride in being different without paying attention to it. When Michael loses his home and his family has to move they have his back. And they are there for him when the ghost girl starts following him around. Mariah was murdered when she was just 15, her remains were never found, although no one but her and her ghost friend, Crazy Girl, know where their bodies are buried. The house Michael now lives in is the one where she lived with her family, and her old room is now his. She appears to him one night, trying to taunt him, but against her will she is falling in love with the boy who lives in her old room. The "Please..." I hear her whimper and I go into full panic mode. "Calm down, okay? Deep breaths. Don't hang up. I'll be with you soon. Where are you?" I rush as I grab the car key sitting on the glass table. I run into the garage with my dad behind me. "What do you need?" Dad asks "A room. A big one." He runs back inside as I hear her voice again.
