Illiana Maine is no regular human; in fact, she isn't a human at all. But she doesn't know what she is, and neither does her mom, Jess Maine. They don't quite know where she came from either. Illiana has never been on a date, she's never had friend. The only human interaction she's had is over the phone or with, of course, her mom. But one day, Illiana's quiet, desolate world changes. She finds love and companionship, but also the evil that brought her to the human dimension. Will she be strong enough to withstand it, and protect the ones she has grown to love?

Life could not have gotten more complicated for Willow and Moira. Willow was a university going student with her eyes set on the future. In her final year she found herself living with a group of students just off of the campus. They welcome her into their small, friendly family, but despite how much they care for her they can't let her know about their true natures. Soon Hunters arrive in the city, threatening Willow's friends and causing one of the Magical Courts to send their most dangerous asset to deal with them. Moira's arrival in the city is all but good news for anyone, Magical or mundane. While Willow is concerned about protecting her new family, Moira finds herself dealing with protecting the Magicals of Ottawa and deciding the fate of a Human who has been dragged into something far bigger than they ever could have expected. And who said fairy tales were all about whimsical fun?
