The Thing That Went On In Greenland

Niles Kalligher is a private detective, and new to the job. He hasn't finished, started or even been given a single case. He already put his name in every newspaper in New York City, and yet, he hasn't received a single call. So when he's on the brink of quitting the business and receives a call, he takes it. Albeit it's a small one: a missing persons case, on a small island in an even smaller town... in the south of Greenland.

He's sceptical at first, as anyone would be. Never had he thought his first case would be in some random country he'd never even thought of visiting, or even barely heard of... but they told him they'd pay well. Triple, of what he'd originally asked for in the ad in the paper.

So he agrees. Hell, he hasn't got much of a choice, with his only other option for money to turn to his parents... which he'd never do. He gets to the island by ferry, and figures he'll finish the case in a week, no, days. The island's even smaller than he thought, and with no way to get off except by ferry, she has to still be on there somewhere. She probably just got rebellious... parents wouldn't let her go out with her boyfriend, so she decides to run away for a few days, let off some steam, get them worried about her.

Everything would be fine.
