"Performing in a crowded café and wooing all the ladies in the audience doesn't count." He frowns. "You were in the audience." Then the corner of his mouth curls. "Did I woo you, my dearest Aliyah?" I wrinkle my nose. "Yes, I am so wooed by you. I will fall on my knees for you if that means you will simply glance at me," I deadpan. His lips melt into a sly smirk. "On your knees?" 🎸🎸🎸 Aliyah Thorne is barely making it. At age eighteen, she's a high school dropout - and without a place to stay, she crashes on any couch she can. Including the couch of her drug dealer brother. Chase Ashford is a child of nepotism and the result of a scandalous affair. He's always lived a luxurious life because of his mother, Catherine Hale, whose iconic modelling career in the early 90s continues to influence fashion to this day. Now Catherine is retired, and Chase has built a career for himself as an actor and singer. He also regularly visits his dealer, Gabe, whose annoying sister Aliyah occupies Chase's thoughts more than he'd like to admit. Tall, sly, and clever, Chase Ashford is everything that doesn't mix well with Aliyah. They've never gotten along, and their rivalry only grows as Chase prepares for his upcoming world tour, and Aliyah prepares - due to irritating circumstances - to travel with him. But passion is born within their rivalry, and as they travel from state to state and country to country, the line between hate and love begins to blur. With the media greedily watching on, Aliyah finds it hard to differ the fake lover façade Chase has perfected from the real thing that may be blooming between them.
