In the futuristic Pan City lives a talented young girl named Carmody Brentwood. She is one of the Awakened,  a Kinetic Enhancer able to deliver tremendous damage with a kick, punch or swing of her mighty Cricket bat, Excalibur. Carmody is friends with Sarah, a girl who has a rather special friend of her own named Stanley. That friend is a Steam Dragon, a creature who had arrived in their world by complete accident. Only the two girls can see Stanley, and he treats them as his best friends.
Which would be fine except for one big problem. Carmody is also a Dracoris Terminus, the only known Dragon Slayer in their world.
