Veiled Lies and Half-Truths
This story is a Solas x Inquisitor Lavellan fan fiction. It eventually deviates greatly from the actual Dragon Age: Inquisition plot line and focuses more on romance between characters. However, it does contain massive spoilers from all of The Dragon Age games. If you are unfamiliar with the games I provide enough background information and character creation that you will not be lost. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it. I both love and broke for these characters. This book is complete with a little over 250 chapters. However, I have to type and revise it chapter by chapter because most of my writing was done by hand with a bunch of scribbles everywhere. It is a slower build-up to the spice and relationship as I lay out the foundation, but when it starts, it picks up drastically. Don't worry, when it's complete I will list the spice chapters for those of you who are only interested in that. *No judgment because same* There will eventually be a Solas POV for this story. *Eventually* Please make sure to look at the trigger warnings if that is a concern. I do not own rights to the dragon age franchise or any photos posted to this story. This is a fictional adaptation of the game and related characters. This story adaptation however is mine.
A Pair of Pointed Ears
Rare is usually a compliment. Rare is a beautiful flower. Rare is fine silks and exotic cheeses. Rare is not something Varisa ever wanted to be. In Thedas, Omegas are cursed to either live their lives in hiding or in suffering. She was safer hiding away with her Dalish clan, but events at the Conclave made the chances of her ever returning slim. Now, a wolf has her scent. Will he bare his teeth like the rest, or will he surprise her with his gentle touch? ------------------ Disclaimer: This is a fanfiction about the protagonist and Solas from the popular fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition, so all credit to Bioware where it is due. It is also heavy in SPOILERS for both the main storyline and the Trespasser DLC.
The Dragon and the Dread Wolf
Everything was bathed in blood-red hue. She saw remnants of what could only be described as Arlathan. Beautiful cities are now laying in ruin. She slowly walked through the torn streets cautiously, constantly looking around thinking something was going to pop up and ambush her. But her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a monstrous roar. Several actually and the sound of a wolf. Amanatha sprinted towards the sounds, leaping over and sliding under the debris until she found herself blocked by what appeared to be mutated plants. The roars sounded again, and she spotted the source ahead. She saw what looked to be several corrupt dragons, even more massive than the dragons in the waking world. Something stirred within her. Something familiar and terrifying. A dark howl ripped through the sky. It was defiant but singular and radiated a power she had not felt before, yet it was familiar. Her eyes widened in surprise as she rounded a corner. A wolf as black as night with six eyes as red as a burning fire stood before the several dragons.
