Ilsa, one of the three demon princes in Caelestes (The Demon Realm), decides to flee his home realm in search of freedom from his life of seclusion, mistreatment, and imprisonment. Ilsa quickly realized that he was not in the realm he intended to be in at all when he was almost immediately discovered... Not all hope was lost, however, because Ilsa found himself being offered a mutually beneficial arrangement--a marriage with the king of vampires, Cassian Elynbrigge.
It worked out perfectly. Ilsa needed protection from his father, and what better protection than a kings army? Ilsa had been alone for millennia, and the idea of settling down with someone was appealing, and it wasn't like he had tons of experience talking to people given that he'd been secluded his entire life. It helped that said king was incredibly attractive, and treated him better than he'd ever been treated before.
With the future spanning in front of him with infinite possibilities and the past looming behind him like a phantom, Ilsa comes to find the one thing he'd always wanted: somewhere to belong.
