Novella about two near strangers who drunkenly agree to get married and move in together. 

Each has their own motivation to fight for the couple, but when old flames come to light and frustrations arise, the two must decide wether their blossoming love is worth fighting for, and if the hardships their agreement brings outweighs the consequences of them not being together anymore. Through 9/11 and a  particularly trying health crises, they begin to lean on each other, both literally and figuratively. 

He needs a citizenship to stay in the country. Her mother will stop paying for her studies unless she "settles down" and gets married soon. His prodigal self lives in books, and she works for the wife of her estranged Ex-boyfriend, first love and soulmate, with whom sparks still fly. 

Will they make it?

btw the ex is not like a creepy mafia dude or you know... THAT type of protagonist ex-bf. he's an exceedingly sweet man, a college teacher, a loving father of eight. it's a heartwarming story ok lmao

also there isn't really that much sexual content, but I put the mature rating because there are profanities and gore and discussions of death, murder, amputations, and other things that I think kids should avoid lmao.
