He has been one of my closest and most dearest friends since childhood. Since that one day in the first grade.
On the day of February 14, I was at my desk. Glitter spread everywhere, paper scraps on the floors, textures lidless and glue on the desktop. I watched as kids got out of their seats and visited their friends to drop off a surprise in their basket attached to the front of their desk.
I stood up sighing and made my way across the classroom. I stopped at his desk with the card still in my hand and smiled.
"Happy Valentine's Day."
