Challenging myself to come up with a story that only has a minor idea as I write <33 anyways here's the description:
Hayden August - a transgender male - has just moved to Pennsylvania from California due to his dad getting a new job. Upset about leaving his friends behind and having to attend a new highschool halfway through senior year, he makes a new friend that he just so happens to be into.

The title New Names is inspired by the identity struggle some trans kids go through, especially if they're in an unsafe environment. His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. Don't worry, I did do research about being trans, but if you are a trans person, and there is anything you feel like isn't right or lacking in this story, feel free to let me know!
