Nicki Baker was celebrating her eighth birthday when her loving parents gave her a gift she always wanted, a diary. In this diary she talks about everything that happens in her life and explains how and why she feels that way—but a sudden change puts a damper on things. She’s a mutant and in her world mutants are not welcome, accepted, or even thought of as human. Nicki has already discovered what she is and what she’s capable of but her parents feel strongly about mutants—in other words they despise them.

Her parents kicked her and her sister out of the house because of the discovery of their powers. They lived on their own, obeyed their own rules, and did what they could to get food—which is hard when your eight and you have a twelve-year-old sister. This diary will destroy Nicki’s life but it will also bring the joy and happiness she once had before.

Eventually they will find someone generous enough to take them in, but is this person the enemy trying to destroy them or a true friend that will be helpful in the time of need?

NOTE: This is all my creation but I’m not sure if I’m going to add the X-Men into the story or not. If I do I will let you know so I can give credit to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The Wink is actually from a Marvel video game but she’s slightly different in my story. If you want to find other great mutant stories please try: Lionheart(by Icepool), Lightning(by Icepool), or her new story Twisted Wrath(by Icepool). They inspired me to write these stories and I had to create an account just for this so please go easy on me because I’m new. Thanks for support.
