Rowan Evergreen is an Irdisch Witch and able to see and manipulate the life energy of everything around her. As she chooses to follow the Irdisch credo to do no harm to any living creature she makes herself vulnerable to the hunters who would seek to exploit her gifts, or worse, consume her life force.
She moves to the country village of Sheriton in Washington State USA for what she thinks will be just another temporary stay in a block of others - Irdisch Witches never linger for long. However her plans are turned on their head when she meets a host of unusual characters, some of which are other like her.
Adam is the enigmatic book shop owner with a friendly face but a secret steely side. Connor is a Changeling and his Irish charm and wolfish smile win Rowan over enough to break her usual rules. Marrick and Ava are the otherworldly Vaenwyn, ageless creatures capable of opening Rowan's eyes to more of her Witch history than she could ever have imagined.
Drawn into the happenings of the Changeling pack, most of which are out for her blood, Rowan tries to navigate new friendships, ancient alliances and a new way of living. As if that weren't complicated enough, Rowan stumbles across a vile enemy unlike anything she has ever encountered - one that will stop at nothing to hunt her down and drain her life force, inch by slow inch.
Life in the remote village turns out to be anything but simple and Rowan is forced to forgo her life of reclusive solitude in favour of one filled with people, adventures and danger.

*FINISHED!* (just edits being made now) -11/23/25 I decided to unpublished every chapter except the ones that are updated, I have been working to edit at least 1 chapter every day, don't know how long that will last, but I've been doing it for 3 days now -2/25/26 Aspen has lived in the castle her entire life but that changes on her sister's 16th birthday when she meets Jay and Gabe. Gabe can be kinda annoying and Jay doesn't talk much, but for Aspen's first friends they are perfect. When Jay reveals a scheme that changes Aspen's life forever, they help her escape the castle. They are now on a mission: to stop her sister, and save the kingdom. What she is planning, not even Aspen knows. I would also like to credit my friend who helped me write this.
