The Potentii - descendants of a powerful ancient tribe. By choice, they live seperately from the modern world. When they come of age, the children are granted unimaginable powers from the mysterious crater - a hole in the landscape of unknown origin. The crater has remained a secret, until now - and there are those that would kill for such power.
After a series of increasingly worse attacks, the elders are forced to send the 4 chosen "Manipulators" - children of the Potentii with unique powers - into the city to discover the source of the attacks and end it.
Kathryn has only just gained her powers, but she is hurled into a dangerous mission - along with Mary, Aaron and Phillip. Together, they must brave the dangerous streets of Mortem, and use their talents to save their dwindling way of life.
For there can only be one victor in the fatal struggle for power.
