Jay managed to bring Kai back. But he wasn't the old one which Jay knew. He was still a hothead,  but not the same as before. After he noticed because of wu, that his power just left him by anybody. Such a superhero. So He wanted revenge for anybody, but not for his parents- for himself. But he don't even know, who was that. Than after he found out, Jay was that, he wanted his power actually back from him. 

After he managed that, he just gets more evil again and yeah, he just had to do anything evil stuff, so he was again an enemie of the ninjas.
