She scratched and crawled her way out of the hell hole she'd previously journeyed. Despite the pain flaring in her thigh, the survivor kept fighting. Once reaching the top, she emerged, dirty and bloody. The poor soldiers witnessing this act of rebellion took a step back to watch in awe as the young woman writhed out of the death trap. Panting, she pulled herself up and rested her hands on her knees then flicked her eyes around to each individual man staring at her. Fear and confusion were plastered across their faces as the fighting ceased. Men and women on both sides stared at the impossible sight. But in the midst of the most immense pain, she had ever felt, she needed to rush to the aid of her creature. Zalia Abonne had survived once again.
