Skadi is a bounty hunter. She is also something that is known as an Abyssal Hunter, and her particular title is "The Walking Catastrophe." Abyssal Hunters track and kill monsters that lurk in the depths of oceans. These creatures are known to few alive, as most who have encountered them have perished. At 4:00 in the morning, Skadi is notified by the Bounty Board that something is amiss. She is given a message and it tells of a small town which had been engulfed by a mysterious fog that seemed to roll with the tides. The town had gone silent, and every time a person tries to approach it, they're never seen again. Any of the people lost to the fog will be forgotten, erased from files, photos, and anything considering them. Whatever that has done this may or may not lead to the utter annihilation of every being on Terra... unless she can stop it.
Will it be one catastrophe versus another, or will she lose her soul lost forever?
