Maeve and her twin brother, Roman, were born eighteen years before the Civil War, living in the same town as Jasper Whitlock. Her father was a soldier, who left the same day as Jasper. When her father returned he had become some sort of blood drinking creature.

  When Edward goes to Volturi to be killed, Alice takes Maeve with her to meet Bella and help save Edward. Afterwards Maeve's family moves to Forks, Washington where she meets a certain shifter by the name Paul Lahote.
