Artemisia is a sarcastic, spirited 18 year old girl. As the only child of Lord and Lady Barot, she is expected to marry well. Many male suitors have been brought to the castle only to be promptly turned away by her fear of love and confinement and her longing to create her own life adventure.
The mysterious Draven (Lord) Whitlock was brought up in a home without affection. His father, who has not been the same since the unspeakable accident, insists on him finding a suitable wife to carry on the family fortunes and legacy with. Draven speaks fondly of Terrence Morrissey, the family butler and also the man that truly raised him. Draven has a pessimistic look on finding a bride due to the failures and annoyances in the past until.......
Draven arrives at Ambercrest Castle as a potential husband for Artemisia. Can the two overlook their negative views on romance or will their pride and stubbornness get in the way of an epic love?
