Lily is a child that was raped and abused mentally and physically from both parents starting from the age of 2 years old. She's starts off as 16 and grows older within the chapters.On the night her father shot her mom and then him self, Mike a social worker puts her into the back of a cop car and into foster care. He couldn't bare to separate with her so he has adopted her as his own. But he already has a boy named Alex that he adopted at the age of 6, he is 17 that has been through trauma too. Mike is trying to work threw both kids and help them on their journey to adult hood. Alex disowns Lily right away. But as a things happen these kids realize that people can love them and they can love them selves. Lily and Alex soon start to help each other in more ways then one. Read on as they learn to feel safe and love each other and selves.

The Veil

Lily is abandoned at birth only to be thrown into the horrors of the foster system for fifteen years. At age fifteen, she arrives at what will be her last foster home. It is there that she meets the one person she will ever count as a true friend, and together, they make shocking discoveries about why she is there. She also begins to have disturbing hallucinations and premonitions. After one night of extreme abuse by her foster father, her friend Jason takes her, and they run away only to get into a fatal car accident where she watches him die in front of her. Now Lily is left alone in a small town where everyone seems oddly familiar, and she begins to feel like she is not alive but living in some sort of nightmare that she cannot wake up from.
