Prom, whether it be the dress, going out to dinner, or having that special someone as your date, is every girl's dream. Megan Coleman has been looking forward to Prom all year, mostly because she heard word that the boy she likes, Matt Dayton, was going to ask her to go with him. But when Student Council suddenly sends out a special test for all juniors and seniors to take, her desire to be with Matt is nipped in the butt. The test is designed to match students up with a person they never thought they would have anything in common with, or also known as a compatibility test. Unfortunately for Megan, she can't get out of it, and when she gets her match results, she somehow gets matched up with someone she never wanted to see or talk to again.
