In Outer Banks, there are two groups: Kooks & Pogues. Two sides of the island, two rivals that don't quit. This story is about Phoenix Ryans, a 17 year old boy. He just moved over into Outer Banks with his mom. He is a Pogue since they aren't rich enough to live in the Kooks area. The summer, he gets there, Phoenix makes two new friends, Tya Evens and Harlie Nowak, both 17 year old girls.
Tya Evens, a Pogue, lives next door to Phoenix. She grew up with two step brothers and her step mom and dad. Being a Pogue for her was okay. Tya was friends with a girl Kiara but when her step brother broke up with Kiara. They lost contact and never really tried to contact each other.
Harlie Nowak, a Kook, lives next to Topper Thornton. Harlie is the older sister of twin brothers and a little sister. Harlie met Tya and Phoenix at a party, where they all became inseparable. But, they also became very close with the Pogue group. Harlie always pushes the bounds that her parents put her in. Always told not to hang with Pogues but she does it anyway.

{Book 1/2} Growing up in the shadow of her older half brother, John B, would not have been the life Harley would have chosen. After being dumped there at age six, Harley learnt quickly, that when you're a pogue, you don't have the best of luck. After being blackmailed by JJ, her brothers annoying best friend, Harley somehow finds herself getting in way over her head on a treasure hunt with John B and his friends, and in the chaos of it all, she finds herself starting to accept the fact that maybe pogue life isn't that bad after all, and maybe a certain blonde headed pogue in particular, wasn't as annoying as she originally thought. But, just like Kiara, she doesn't feel like she belongs with the other kooks. Dani ignores her father's demands and spends her time with the Pogues instead. The Pogues are her safe haven. Despite what her father thinks of them, they're there for her when she needs it. She's one of them. And being one of the Pogues, Kiara suggests a rule that forbids anyone in the friend group to hookup with each other. This, however, becomes a little challenging for Dani when JJ starts to get more flirtatious than usual. Disclaimer: This story does contain a few 18+ scenes. !!
