(Chronology: Daihaseisai Arc of A Certain Magical Index.) The Daihaseisai is here! A festival event where all the schools in Academy City compete with each other in sporting events.. a festival even more popular then the World Cup. Espers from all over are encouraged to use their abilities. Meanwhile, the Board of Directors have taken an interest in Ben Tennyson after his success in defeating the Eigth Level 5 Impulser.. the Level 5 whose power was impossible to categorize.. and Aleister Crowley, the City administrator has taken up a rather sinister plan to find out how to test this new weapon in his arsenal... attract the most powerful conquerer in the Galaxy to do battle with that boy.


Meanwhile, Ben is starting to realize the possibility that he might have feelings for Mikoto, but is scared of what it might mean... And while Mikoto feels the same way, she doesn't know what to do with those feelings..

She, along with Natsu, Lucy, Happy, and Elli have been missing for six months since then.......... So far, they are believed to be dead. It is twilight in the town of Yugami. Mikoto and her friends Natsu and Lucy are walking home after a long day of school to their house at the edge of the beach. They all have one thing in common....they can't remember who they are, or where they came from....each of them having washed up on the beach one day six months ago only to be found by the school principle Elliot Dreyar. One day, Mikoto finds strange images flying through her head....and two names she can't get out of her head......Touma Kamijou....and Fairy Tail. And if that isn't enough, two men by the names of Gajeel Redfox and Stiyl Magnus appear in town to tell her not to trust anything the highschool has to say. Things then start to get more confusing as strange people in kimonos calling themselves Soul Reapers attempt to capture Mikoto, Natsu, and Lucy, saying that they now know too much and must have their minds wiped............Now if Mikoto wishes to protect her friends and discover who she truly is....she must reawaken both the esper and Dragon Slayer power that has been sleeping within her.......or Yugami town might become an everlasting prison. Mikoto's dragon mother Thundaarix appears one day and tells Mikoto that at 15 years of age, she is slightly overdue to take a sacred Dragon tradition known as a rite of passage where Mikoto must journey to the mountains with her mother to meet her dragon family. Fairy Tail and some of Mikoto's Soul Reaper friends tag along. Soon the Fairy Tail mages find themselves wrapped up in a new kind of magic with a strange little girl named Index at the center. Now, If Mikoto and her friends wish to survive the coming storm, they must battle a newly resurrected from the dead Grimoire Heart. The problem is.......Grimoire Heart aren't the only ones after Index.

Meanwhile, Ben, Mikoto, and company, have spent the better part of the entire year battling on the side of Academy City in various warzones, Ben further questioning all the while whether the side he picked is the right one. So far, the only reason for the war not breaking out into something worse is due to Russians fearing the power of Ben's current most powerful form: Atomix. However, Ben and Mikoto are called by Necessarius to accompany Index and Touma as an extra security measure to investigate the Eurotunnel Bombing. And along the way, Ben meets the 3 Princesses of the British Royal Family, Rimea, Villian and Carissa. Villian is currently being backed by Necessarius for the throne.. however, Carissa is intent to gain her royal birthright.. by any means necessary.

However, the world has changed...with two new level 5s that are also Dragon Borns, and other guilds formed from magicians of this dimension. Not to mention a certain Number 4 Espada who seems to be seen in strange places. But it gets even crazier once Mikoto is framed for a murder she did not commit. Now, as Mikoto tries to survive, Natsu, Lucy, and Ichigo, with the strange help of Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi, must find the real killer and clear Mikoto's name, before it's too late.... Because there's an assassin in town...and prison's the perfect place to make his kill..
