The world is a barren wasteland- their world, at least. 

The world is now so, so, so- Sandy.
Which is fitting. Especially for Sandy.
After the asteroid hit, she finds a base to be safe in.
A few weeks later, there are lots of people staying in the same base, protecting the same place.
Until they find out that there is a gang in a base opposite them, and they don't seem to want to negotiate. Fortunately, they manage to come to an agreement: they both stay out of each other's way, and nobody gets hurt.
