A young elf takes up the task of hunting down a band of orc trespassers with the help of her centaur brother. When she stumbles into a pitfall, Meren finds an object: an amulet that gives strange new powers. Little does she know that an increasingly desperate young wizard is looking for the very same amulet and that their paths are destined to crisscross in a weave of chaotic magic... (This is a novella I wrote in '11 and it's one of my very first stories. My writing style has changed a lot since then, but I'm sharing this with some minor editing because it's the story that gave me a love of writing and for that it'll always hold a special place in my heart. Even her own mother, who mourned her death, is a stranger. As war looms and both sides demand her allegiance, she must find her place in a conflict centuries in the making. But first, she must survive a world that sees her as both its salvation and its greatest threat.

A story of an elven boy, orphaned and forced to live within the human kingdoms. Living in the human kingdoms will expose he and his baby sister to many sorts of racism and discrimination, and he'll have to do whatever he can to survive in a country that is not his own and provide for the sister that relies on him, all the while the ghosts of their pasts haunt him. P.S If you haven't noticed by now, I may have reused a name here and there across my stories. Sorry if this bothers you but I've always found good names a pain in the ass to come up with.
