"Now, I'll be the first to admit that, in my line of work, I most certainly was not the best. But as much as that's true, I also hold pride in the fact that I wasn't the worst.

And yet, on some days, that completely felt like a delusion that I'd often mutter to myself-all because of a few, notable individuals.

Tanjiro Kamado was one such example, and one of the earliest companions that I encountered. Then, shortly after, there was the Boar-Head Imbecile, Inosuke Hashibira.

I could certainly keep going, but you get the idea.

I was severely outclassed, and once I became acquainted with all of the Hashira, that disparity only became worse.

Yet, they all pale in comparison to the true monstrosity, that was The Ghost.

Oh, how could I ever forget such a fanged calamity?

With each swing of his blade, the rage that was held deep within was echoed a thousand times over-a continuous stream of agony and suffering.

A stream that continues to flow through this land, reminding us all of what makes life truly precious.

Because, I swear, sometimes, I can still feel his presence looming-as if he's an undying spirit that's incapable of being put to rest.

But, despite that and so much more, all that I can regret is never being able to understand the man underneath the mask.
