Vin Zheg is a loyal soldier in love with the Atharian Princess. While he's always wanted to be a soldier, a new dream comes along when the Princess has a shocking pregnancy: being a dad. 
Suddenly,  the "Bone Queen" of Riothan, captures the child and drags her away to the Marsh, and Vin is left with no option but to save his daughter and return home.

Yet upon arriving in Riothan, he discovers that not all is what it seems. The veiled queen almost willingly returns his daughter to him and fills doubt in his head about his loyalty to the Princess and Athar. 
Vin finds out that there is more at play with his daughter's capture, and ends up starting a war between the two countries. Forced to pick a side, Vin decides that after countless lies and secrets from the Princess, he has no choice but to fight for Riothan, for the Bone Queen. 

Siding with the villain, Vin has to decide whether his choice was that of becoming evil with this new Queen or that of a dutiful father trying to protect what family he has left. In this struggle, Vin also has to fight the urge to sometimes want to kill Queen Leiya (otherwise known as the Bone Queen), or explore a passionate alternative. Will his love for his daughter be enough to save her, or will he succumb to either his previous Princess or this new witch? V
