Florence Darlington is determined to enjoy the spring in the countryside and derive some entertainment from the advances of boys she has known her entire life. Edmund Wesley intends to not allow any unworthy man in Florence's presence. The problem, though, appears to be that Miss Darlington wants nothing more than to avoid Edmund entirely. But escaping his arrogant and smug infatuation seems impossible, especially when Edmund suddenly finds himself being pressured to prove his ability to become the new Lord Wesley, following through with the duties of running and expanding his household.
