The handprint mocked my every move. It sat menacingly as it peered into my soul, searching for the insecurities that fought against being on full display. Despite it being in the exact same place it felt like its demeanour had changed. Rather than peering into my soul, it had resorted to showing pity upon me. The eleven-year-old who placed that handprint died a long time ago.
