In March of 1971, the crown princess of Gwynival and her unborn child are assassinated by anti-monarchist terrorists in a bombing meant to rock the kingdom to its very core.
With the line of succession uprooted, the new princess, Adalina Managwald, finds herself in an unenviable position. She must maintain public opinion, keep her family on the throne, and fight off anti-monarchist attacks like the one that killed her cousin. How does she do all of this without losing herself in the process?
Viscount Henry Edward struggles to hold on to his future marriage to Adalina. With his home country, England, accused of the attack, he finds this future to be hanging by a very particular thread. Can he salvage his marriage, or will he have to sacrifice his love to maintain the royal family's appearance?
Jack Baldwin has been Adalina's bodyguard for five years and her lover for two. Not to mention that his uncle is the leader of the main anti-monarchist political party in Gwynival. He hovers in this precarious position, stuck between duty, family, and his heart. Will he let Adalina lose her only remaining tie to the real world?

If you enjoy hot and steamy fairy tales, this story is for you. In this grown-up version of the famous fairy tale, Princess Adara is running from her old life and a forced betrothal. Adara wants love and passion, but knows she can't get them back home. When a raging storm halts her escape, Adara seeks refuge in the first dwelling she sees. Prince Richard is tired of the trite, vain, frigid princesses his mother introduces him to in hopes he'll marry. On this stormy night, he's in the mood to love a woman, but he's all alone. Adara arrives on the castle doorstep, saying she's a princess in need of help. The queen is doubtful and decides to lock Adara in a room with a pea to determine if the girl is as royal as she claims. Richard believes the beautiful, charming stranger, but he wants her locked in a bedroom for other reasons. When Richard and Adara hook up, there's more than a pea-sized bit of passion involved....(This is an adult fairy tale.) The story is complete on Wattpad. AnnaMaria Romanoff grows up with an adoptive family, thinking that her biological parents were working class citizens of the country of Chirnova, who died tragically in a car crash when she was just a year old. It's her senior year in high school now, and in the two weeks before her 18th birthday her life will change forever. She thought it would be tough getting through her senior year without a boyfriend. Now, she'll find out how hard it is to survive the year with a fiance... who happens to be the Crown Prince of Vladesvya. Not to mention, she's actually a Crown Princess herself, who has been engaged to the Crown Prince since she was a baby. Is this the Prince that Anna has been dreaming about since she was a little girl? Is this her fairytale or her worst nightmare? Either way, before she can go back to her home safely and claim her throne she will have to face major obstacles. First on the list are the people that tried to murder her as a baby. Then, hopefully, she can make it to her wedding day without being shot and killed first. In this royally ridiculous story of arranged marriages, assassinations and protesting countries... controversy is an understatement. Anna, a small town girl with no ambitions aside from becoming a doctor, will have to face her past and come to terms with her future. Follow her on her journey from being normal to suddenly being a princess. NickiCatherine © 2012
