No one knows what became of him--perhaps his Holder perished, or lost his Miraculous.

In the Paris' newfound peace, Marionette is a rising senior in high school, and while she has no supervillains in need of defeating this summer, she has arguably more pressing matters on hand: college applications.

Five-thousand six-hundred fourty-two miles west, Adrien Agreste is living his best celebrity life in the land of fame excess, LA, and mingling amongst a-list stars and hot-shot influencers.

Mari and Adrien's normal lives they constructed during their three-year break are placed on abrupt pauses when the unthinkable occurs. Strange anomalies have been occurring throughout the globe, all unexplainable yet viciously deadly. And all too familiar. All signs point to Hawk Moth, who apparently has made his return from whatever depth of Hell he had vacationed to. One notable victim of these incidents is none other than Gabriel Agreste. Filled with rage and mourning, Adrien is determined to hunt down Hawk Moth and exact his revenge... but he knows he can't do that alone....

With the general population being submerged into a panic, Ladybug and Cat Noir must find their way back to each other to put an end to their long-term nemesis once and for all, just like old-times.
But it's not the same as three-years ago. They're older now, wiser.
And still recovering from a certain even that took place two and a half years ago that destroyed any chance of a friendship between the two young heroes from ever occurring again.
