Before Piltover was the city of Gothem. An old city that ran rampant with crime and injustice for centuries. Criminals were everywhere with no one to stop them. Thus the city turned itself into a police state and all out civil war broke out. After weeks the city was decimated. However out of its ashes Piltover rose to take the place of the once corrupt city. Yet it's people are not so easily changed. Gothemites flooded the city as crime ran unchecked once again. However crime didn't increase, The criminals, they feared something. Something that lurked in the darkness. Something that filled the shadows with the stench of despair. Or rather. 
Someone.
