Athena is offered a scholarship to Silver Oak, which she reluctantly accepts after much persuasion and pushing. Being away from family is difficult, especially when you live across the country from them; yet, finding friends isn't as difficult as Athena believes, and life appears to be on the bright side.

There is one person at Silver Oak, though, who does not appear to be happy or particularly disturbed. Leo ridges.
Athena is intrigued by the fact that he only speaks with his friends and has no desire to make new ones. When Leo first meets Athena, he greets her with a cold, uninterested expression, However, he keeping his genuine feelings hidden beneath the surface.

When biology partners are assigned, things gradually but steadily change between them, bringing them closer together. A minor shift in perspective and the macho yearning to belong are destined to transform the two.
