Valkyria Chronicles: Unfettered Escalation

Two Worlds, One War.

The year, 1935 EC. Two great powers vied to control the continent of Europa. In the East, the sun rose over the Autocratic East Europan Imperial Alliance, a dictatorship known as the Empire. In the West, a network of loosely allied democracies banded together to form, the Atlantic Federation.

Both powers depended on a precious mineral, ragnite, for their survival and its growing scarcity leading inevitably to war.

With its overwhelming military might, the Empire captured one nation after another, while the Federation struggled to maintain unity, every battle driving them further back against the wall.

Flush with victory, the Empire turns its gaze to a strategic island chain, a stepping stone to challenge the Federation's control of the North Sea. With a declaration from the capital and an invasion fleet dispatched, they move to seize what they believe is just another piece of land.

But a violent storm and later fog engulfs the armada, blinding its course. When the skies clear, a coastline emerges on the horizon. Confident of an easy conquest, the Imperial forces prepare to unleash their military might on the island's Federation inhabitants.

They are prepared for a battle. They are not prepared for the response. For this land is not just another territory; it is a member state of NATO, and its defense is guaranteed by the most powerful military alliance in history.

Valkyria Chronicles: Unfettered Escalation is a crossover story between Valkyria Chronicles and Gate. Set in 2023 where NATO had expanded to include more nations, Sweden among them in the face of Russian provocations, NATO is thrust into a war with an Empire from another world.
