In this, a bit naive, story Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian are given the chance of exposing their true feelings to each other and do something about it, not long after their first meeting.

Lan Wangji is very aware of his feelings for Wei Wuxian, but completely oblivious about Wei Wuxian's feelings towards him.

Wei Wuxian can't comprehend he's in love with Lan Zhan since he believes he likes girls.

They're going to need assistance if anything's going to happen and the only one for the job is of course, my hero, the absolutely fantastic Lan Xichen!

There is also a part of the story about Lan Xichen's private life and the future of the Lan and Jiang Clan.

Lan Zhan isn't able to lie even when he's not in the Cloud Recesses.

And....Lan Qiren might actually have had a small crush on Wei Wuxian's mother.
