Ellie was expecting her holiday in ancient Egypt with her family to be a trip to remember. she didn't know how right she'd be.

after falling into the Nile from the cruise ship, Ellie expecting to drown instead finds herself in ancient Egypt at the feet of Anubis himself. Expecting to be killed for daring to disrespect the god of death and mummification, Ellie is surprised to hear that he plans to marry her for it.

despite being an Egypt enthusiast, Ellie is still a girl from the twenty-first century and she does not know how to live in a world that died out a long time ago. more worryingly, Ellie has no idea how she is going to get out of this marriage and back home.
