When a prominent family moves to a rural town in Louisiana by the bayou things just seems off.
I took a nice stroll on a hiking trail to release some of the stress of the move. I soon became unsteady on my feet and collapsed to my knees.
When I came to my husband Cecil a police sargent was standing above me.

The Long Walk Home
IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. My hand slaps against my mouth as I try to shut myself up. Don't make too much noise...or he'll hear you. A vehicle's door opens then slams shut. I don't hear footsteps...but as the minutes go by I begin to hear them; the footsteps get louder and louder and louder, matching the sound of my thundering heart.
