Marinette is a human with Phoenix powers. When it is time she can set herself aflame and turn to ashes, only to rise from those ashes stronger and more beautiful than ever. She is also a Princess. Though, her kingdom isn't your typical kingdom. It's a magical place where other humans have powers too. 

Her parents wanted her to live a normal life before taking the thrown, so they sent her to live with one of her aunt and uncle's on her mother's side, the aunt and uncle being Sabine and Tom. Marinette goes by the alias Marinette Dupain Cheng but her real name is Maria Cyra Diancie. 

The kwami's do exist in this and Marinette is still Ladybug in this.All Rights Reserved

Marinette is the title character of Rapunzel in this story but instead of being trapped in just a tower, it is an entire manor surrounded by a magical curtain to keep it hidden from view. She has been trapped there her entire life by Lila until a chance encounter with the outside world makes her want more. And she sets out to discover why she was raised by Lila(Lila is the Mother Gothel of the story). I have seen other Rapunzel stories done for Marinette where it is the version from the Disney movie Tangled but I decided to write this story from the Barbie as Rapunzel Movie. I also made Marinette the daughter of Felix and Bridgette who were the precursors to Marinette and Adrien for Ladybug and Chat Noir in Miraculous Ladybug. The original story had Bridgette as Ladybug and infatuated with Felix but they decided to scrap these two in favor of Marinette and Adrien.
