"You may think you're tough, yet you are just as vulnerable as the rest of us." She says, her eyes roll in annoyance, as her posture shifts when she turns to look at him.

His eyebrows raise in surprise, but just as fast covered with a hardened facade. A chuckle exposed as a distraction, before he steps closer to her figure. There she was expecting a harsh response, maybe a "Shut up." Or a "You don't know me-" crap, yet he said something she wouldn't-  couldn't have predicted.

"Your defiance is as captivating as it is infuriating." 

With that he is gone. The loss of warmths against her body now replaced with coldness.

His voiced trembles, something between the feeling of pain and longing, he confesses. "You are the melody to my darkest song." His eyes filled with emotion, he captures her cheek between his fingertips. "You are the ghost of my future that I cannot escape."
