The man let go and I almost fell on my knees, weakened from days of starvation and caged in the storage. I looked at him uncertain what to do or think. The mysterious man observed me for a few seconds then strode over to his horse, fetching a flask of water. He loosened the lid and handed it to me. I snatched it from his hand like a feral animal and drank and drank until the last drop of water fell in my mouth. I was thirsty and dying, I couldn't get enough drink of water. He offered me spiced rice ball next and I consumed every bit of it in front of him without feeling any shame or reserved daintiness. I didn't care, I was hungry. I could care less whether I looked like a starving animal or a woman. Once I'm done, he merely groaned and said..."Let's go." I understood right then that I was just sold to a new master, and he is now my new owner. My new owner mounted on his horse, I expected to walk while he rode when he offered me his hand to help lift me up behind him. His gesture surprised me, and I jerked at the sight of his wide palm, thinking he was going to hurt me. "Don't be scared." He murmured, his voice is a gentle wave of softness. "I will not hurt you like your previous masters."

The next morning I felt something heavy next to me. My alarm hasn't rang yet so I was touching around to feel what was disturbing my much needed sleep. I shrieked as I jumped out my bed accidentally taking the blankets with me. I screamed when I saw a naked man in my bed "Get of my bed you pervert!" I shouted as I threw a pillow that was lying on the floor on his head. That man just grunted in response before opening his eyes, "M-" "I'm counting till three for you the leave or I will call the cops! 1-" "Cat" he said cutting me off. Right! Where's the cat?!

He raised his hand up again to strick me but I cowered away from him and he sighed and pointed to my filthy kennel. ''Get in your fucking kennel now!" He yelled at me and I jumped out of the bed still naked and quickly hopped in the kennel. He grumbled and stormed over and slammed the door locking it before he pushed it into the closet. I whimpered quietly, Master only put me in the closet if he wanted to punish me for being bad. I curled up on the one shirt I got of Masters to sleep with and wondered why I had ever wanted this.

He walked past many breeds such as German Shepherds, mutts, and evens few poodles before he eventually reached the end with no dog in mind that he wanted. Until a new one came in. "I found her abandoned in a home that the owners had moved out of awhile ago, and she put up a hell of a fight to stay and wait for the owners to return. She's really sick too, as well as dehydrated and malnourished." A man spoke in a rush as he barged in holding a lump of fur in his hands. Mark could see the dirty white-blonde fur on the dog slowly rise up and down with each breath it took, her large, sad chocolate brown eyes looking into Mark's own eyes with a mournful look that made Mark want to hug the puppy and never let go. She let out a whimper before she lowered her head and closed her eyes, making tears well up in Mark's eyes. "That's the dog I want." Mark decided aloud. "A-are you sure? We have plenty of other dogs-" "She's perfect." Mark interrupted. The man exchanged glances with the woman before gently handing the puppy over. "What's her name?" Mark asked softly as he watched the puppy lick his fingers with a small smile. "Sephora according to the rope the owners tied to her before leaving." The man stated as he pulled out a tattered piece of rope with her name burnt onto it. "Sephora...like the makeup. How about Chica?" Mark whispered to the puppy. Chica let out a soft yip as she curled into a tighter ball in Mark's hand. "Chica it is." Mark chuckled, delicately running a finger down her soft back. "You're a good dog." Mark told her as he walked towards the exit. "You'll always be my good dog." Mark promised her.
